Are you planning to buy a Sony Xperia Ear Duo for yourself? Yes, the price is RM 1199 and I am pretty sure it is not a typo. That is quite steep for me but to be fair, I should refrain myself from commenting on this because I am not an audiophile and I won’t understand what makes it so special that the price has to be that expensive. Probably you will know why.

If you are planning to buy this, you can expect to see it in selected Sony outlets starting 4th of June (KLCC is definitely one of it). As for the colour, you have the option of either black or gold. 

The moment I saw the Sony Xperia Ear Duo at Sony’s website, the first thing that came to my mind was :

I definitely don’t like the design but there is a reason why Sony has made it to look such way. With the Xpearia Ear Duo, you will still be aware of your surroundings while enjoying your favourite music because it doesn’t block your ear canal. To make it even safer for you, the volume automatically adjusts depending on your surroundings.

This is how the Xperia Ear Duo works, according to Sony :

The Spatial Acoustic Conductor, developed by our in-house technology incubator Sony R & D, allows the sound generated behind the ear by the unit´s driver to be transmitted directly into the ear. The specially designed ring supporter surrounds the ear canal so your music can blend seamlessly with sounds from your environment.

By the way, you will also get a compact case with built-in battery. With that, you can charge your Ear Duo for up to 3 times. With just 7 minutes of charging, you can listen to your favourite musics for up to an hour. Without the case, it is quite sad to even think about the talk time and music time. They are merely 2.5 hours and 4 hours respectively.
